Drøbak Golf Club Signs New Agreement With Hako Ground & Garden

Contract continues longtime relationship, includes delivery of 24 new Toro® machines

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (October 8, 2020) – The Toro Company announces that Drøbak Golf Club has signed a long term contract with Toro distributor Hako Ground & Garden AS Norway. The new agreement continues a long-standing relationship between the golf course and its Toro supplier with the delivery of 24 all-new Toro® machines.

Located 20 minutes south of Oslo, Drøbak Golf Club has been one of Norway’s most visited golf courses for over 10 years. Prior to this agreement, the course had a five-year running agreement with Hako to change out a few Toro machines every year.

“This year we have had so many new members join the club, we knew we needed a long-term plan with our supplier, Hako,” said Jens Gilboe, CEO of Drøbak Golf Club. “The reliable quality of the products, a long and good relationship, and an excellent aftermarket parts and service deal made this an easy choice.”

Drøbak Golf Club’s new Toro fleet includes Greensmaster® greens mowers, Reelmaster® fairway mowers, Groundsmaster® rough mowers and a ProLine direct collect mower. The package also includes several Workman® utility vehicles, a ProCore® aerator, a Pro Force™ debris blower, a Multi Pro® sprayer, a Sand Pro® bunker rake and a GreensPro® greens roller, as well as other specialty products. In addition, the course is using Toro’s myTurf® Pro asset management software to track and manage the new equipment. The agreement was signed in May and delivery of the new products was completed in September.

“To deliver the top-quality playing conditions our members demand, we have to be sure that all of our machines work 100% every time,” added head greenkeeper Lars Eriksen. “That’s why we went for this deal.” According to Gilboe and Eriksen, Hako salesperson Øyvind Martiniussen was another big deciding factor in the new agreement.

“We’re honored that Drøbak Golf Club has chosen Toro equipment, and we look forward to working with Hako Ground & Garden to continue supporting their needs,” said Teo Denchev, Sales Manager at Toro. “Combined with the flexible service agreement, this is an example of new thinking from golf course equipment suppliers. It’s the first and biggest total delivery of Toro products in this innovative way.”
