An Electric Pair: How Toro® Battery-Powered Equipment Works Together to Benefit Your Bottom Line

Aug 15, 2024  |   Construction  |   Professional Contractor

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Maximum efficiency is key on the jobsite. An easy way to cut downtime and enhance productivity is to rely on equipment that complements each other. Toro designed its next generation eDingo® 500 and electric Ultra Buggy® e2500 to work side by side to achieve just that. Engineered based on customer feedback, both machines meet the unique demands of indoor and outdoor construction jobs.

“We’re seeing more and more projects involving tight spaces, strict noise restrictions and indoor applications,” says Paul Johnson, marketing manager for Toro. “The eDingo and electric Ultra Buggy offer rental stores and construction crews the versatility and productivity needed to finish the job as efficiently as possible, regardless of if it’s indoors or out.”

Engineered for Maximum Productivity

Toro shrunk the next generation eDingo’s compact footprint while maintaining its capacity for heavy-duty work. The newest model is now a narrow 30 inches wide — allowing it to navigate confined spaces and standard doorways with ease. With a rated operating capacity of 515 pounds, an extended hinge pin height of 81 inches to easily clear a dumpster and an array of compatible 30-inch and standard attachments, it readily tackles loading, digging, lifting, scraping and much more.

The electric Ultra Buggy e2500 has a narrow 31.5-inch frame and zero-turn radius to maneuver through tight work zones and doorways. Its auto-return dump feature lets operators focus on the task at hand while the tub automatically resets. The durable tubs, which come in polyethylene or steel, can haul up to 14 cubic feet or 2,500 pounds, making it ideal for transporting materials of all types.

Both models are powered by Toro's HyperCell® lithium-ion battery technology to deliver consistent, all-day power. The proprietary Battery Management System (BMS) provides quick-charging capabilities and long runtimes. With no engine emissions and a quiet drivetrain, both machines are ideal for safe use indoors.

A Double Dose of Comfort & Convenient Control

Both the eDingo and electric Ultra Buggy are built to be user-friendly. When crews can operate machinery comfortably and with ease, they can complete more, faster. Customers can rent these machines with confidence, and their crews will quickly understand how to operate the machines and get to work.

Toro’s patented one-handed traction control system is featured on both machines. Not only are they easy to learn, the smooth and responsive controls are built to provide precise movements at any skill level. The stand-on platform offers increased mobility and visibility around the machine.

Working all day, even on a machine, can take a toll on the operator. Features like the comfort mat on the eDingo and the suspended ride-on platform of the electric Ultra Buggy help reduce operator fatigue. Plus, the Ultra Buggy’s auto-return dump feature automatically places the tub back in a resting position while the operator focuses on retrieving the next load.

“These aren't just machines — they're a solution. And by pairing the two on the job site, we hope that customers will find they can get any job done with ease,” says Johnson. “This dynamic duo of productivity represents the future of construction machinery, and Toro is proud to lead the way.”
