BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — In the spring of 2017, Toro introduced a self-propel drive system that works in both forward and reverse — the game-changing idea behind Toro’s new 22-inch PoweReverse™ Personal Pace® SmartStow® Recycler® mower. It allows homeowners to mow challenging areas with less effort by powering both forward and backward operation.

This same innovative PoweReverse functionality is now available with SmartStow technology, which allows the mower to be stored upright, reducing the storage footprint needed by up to 70%. SmartStow is made possible by a unique Briggs & Stratton® EXi 163cc engine with Just Check & Add™ technology, making this new model simple to store and simple to maintain.

“Both the PoweReverse and SmartStow features are extremely popular with Toro customers, because they make yard work easier and more convenient,” said Wade Tollison, senior marketing manager at Toro. “We are very pleased and excited to combine these two customer-valued features into the ultimate “easy” lawn mower – easy backup, easy storage, and easy to use.”

The combination of PoweReverse and Personal Pace delivers power where it’s needed based on the mowing direction. With PoweReverse, the front wheels help power the mower in reverse, and the rear wheels sense and adjust to the user’s preferred walking pace to power the mower forward.

The mower also features a new Iso-Flex™ handle with a cushioned design that enhances comfort by isolating the homeowner’s hands from the feel of the bumps and vibrations often felt when mowing with a typical lawn mower. For added convenience, the handle flexes within a range to make it easier to adjust and maneuver under low obstacles.

In addition, this new model is equipped with Toro’s Recycler cutting system, which suspends and recuts clippings into fine mulch for a healthy, lush lawn. When homeowners want to collect clippings, they can switch from mulching to bagging in seconds by flipping the Bag-on-Demand quick-change lever.

The new model will be available in 2018 at authorized Toro dealers and The Home Depot. For additional details on the new Toro Recycler PoweReverse Personal Pace SmartStow mower, please visit www.toro.com/powereverse.
