New Toro Lynx® Drive Revitalizes Golf Irrigation Software
Proven Lynx Central Control platform is completely overhauled for greater usability and productivity
BLOOMINGTON, MN. — Toro is thrilled to debut a revolutionized way to think about irrigation control — the all-new Lynx® Drive. Lynx Drive is an energized, new approach to a proven platform designed with golf course superintendents in mind.
“What’s known is new again with Lynx Drive. Toro has spent months completely overhauling the popular Lynx Central Control platform to redesign it for today’s superintendents. The new Lynx Drive is an entirely new system truly designed for mobile, on-the-go-use, putting streamlined, full control of irrigation in a superintendent’s hands — literally,” says David Angier, marketing manager at Toro. “Detailed, transparent communication and the ability to make precision changes to programming in real-time from anywhere makes all the difference in terms of productivity, efficiency and labor savings.”
Launching in late 2024, Lynx Drive is not just another update to the platform. It is an entirely new and improved way to manage golf course irrigation systems with ease. Using Lynx Drive ensures golf course superintendents, and their entire crew are informed about what is happening on the course at all times, resulting in more efficient operations and a better way to keep a finger on the pulse of the course.
Designed specifically for smartphone or tablet use, the clean and simple interface puts all the Lynx essentials at your fingertips. The incredibly intuitive display includes larger buttons and text for enhanced visibility plus high-resolution images and colors for greater detail.
SmartNotes makes sticky notes, text messages and informal, disorganized chats a thing of the past, providing immediate communication with detailed notes, photos and team transparency. The ability to include a device name allows a view of who performed actions, while date and time stamps on photos deliver additional detail. SmartNotes maintains a note’s history for up to one year.
Precision is a key driver of the new features included in Lynx Drive. For example, issue flags pinpoint an issue report and associate it with a specific station, ensuring adjustments are always made in the correct spot. All alerts can be viewed by the entire crew for full transparency and timely action.
Additionally, the new expanded mapping features enable users to include files that can be shared through mobile and desktop programs. This allows for easy collaboration across a team and for effortless communication from day to day. Plus, changes can be made directly from the map on the app — no need to navigate to a different screen.
“We’re incredibly proud to debut the new Lynx Drive at the 2024 GCSAA Conference and Trade Show,” says Angier. “We fully anticipate Lynx Drive to do just what its name entails — drive productivity, labor savings and more efficient use of water for golf course superintendents in real-time.”
