Toro Announces New Engine for Recycler® Mowers with SMARTSTOW®

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Starting in early 2017, both Toro^® Recycler^® mowers with SMARTSTOW^® will be equipped with a new Briggs & Stratton Mow N’ Stow^® engine featuring Just Check & Add™ technology. The new engine allows the mower to be stored upright and never requires an oil change* — homeowners can simply check and add oil when necessary.

This marks the first time Briggs & Stratton has offered both technologies in one engine. Together, these features make the Recycler mower both easy to maintain and easy to store. The patented engine design includes new vents, oil seals and gaskets, as well as a unique fuel tank design that helps prevent oil and gas from leaking out when the mower is stored upright.

In addition, Just Check & Add technology helps keep dirt and debris out of the engine while also allowing the engine to run cooler. Keeping the oil cleaner and cooler helps slow down the breakdown of the oil, so homeowners need only check the oil level and add oil as necessary.* Regular scheduled maintenance must still be performed.

Briggs & Stratton partnered with Toro to offer the first Mow N’ Stow engine on the original Toro Recycler, which allows the mower to be stored upright for a 70 percent reduced storage footprint. The Recycler mower folds in three simple, tool-free steps to reduce overall storage space.

The new engine will be available exclusively on select Toro Recycler with SMARTSTOW mowers at Toro dealers and The Home Depot^® in early 2017.
