ICUEE Chairman Rick Rodier Touts Focus on Tech and Education for 2017 Show
Toro Sitework Systems VP shares direction on 2017 planning, impacts
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The 2017 International Construction and Utility Equipment Expo (ICUEE) Chairman, Toro’s Rick Rodier, expects an overwhelmingly positive experience for attendees and exhibitors alike at this year’s biennial event in Louisville, Kentucky, October 3-5, 2017.
The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) and the show management committee under Rodier’s leadership believe the focus on both technology and educational opportunities for attendees will prove to create a rich and rewarding experience for contractors, dealers, suppliers and manufacturers.
In terms of technology, the show management committee has introduced a variety of options for attendees and exhibitors to enrich the overall ICUEE experience. Those initiatives include streamlining the badge retrieval process, encouraging attendees to download the ICUEE mobile app for simplified navigation and planning, and providing exhibitors with access to more data about booth visitors through eventBit beacon technology and enhanced lead retrieval services.
Rodier and the committee have also identified training as a key component to the success of the show and have taken steps to ensure ICUEE 2017 delivers valuable, relevant and engaging educational opportunities for attendees. The show will feature a new “Test Run” Show Experience, in which attendees can operate equipment in job-like conditions, educational sessions to learn about the latest technologies and issues impacting the construction and utility segments, and a two-mile test-drive zone for on-road equipment and technology.
“There is a lot that goes into planning an event with the scope and scale of ICUEE, and we largely followed the lead of the well-oiled machine that is AEM. It was a true pleasure to work with talented professionals like the AEM team and the show management committee in making this event both impactful and successful,” said Rodier. “By listening to those in the industry in a number of different roles, we knew that education and technology would be key drivers for the 2017 show.”
The 2017 ICUEE show management committee consists of a cross-section of utility and construction industry leaders, who guide strategic planning to ensure the show remains relevant to the needs of attendees and exhibitors. In addition to Rodier’s appointment as show chair, Neil Borenstein, director of marketing for the Toro Sitework Systems Business also served on the 2017 committee.
